Personal Training
If you’re like most people, when the New Year begins, you buy a gym membership and begin to work towards achieving your ideal physique. Some experts have found that the majority of people will quit on their fitness goals by January 12th – less than two weeks after they started! Why is that?
There are many factors but some studies suggest that it happens because of feeling frustrated over not knowing what to do to achieve fitness success. What’s more, these same people may not feel confident that the steps they are taking make a difference.
What if there was someone with years of education and experience who could create the ideal workout for you then teach you exactly what to do to achieve success? A personal trainer can be the difference between reaching your ideal physique, and waiting until next year to try again.
Benefits of Hiring a Personal Trainer
A personal trainer is a certified professional who has been formerly educated to understand exactly what the body needs in order to lose weight, build muscle, improve performance, and prevent injury, to name a few things. Let’s review the benefits of hiring of a personal trainer to demonstrate how valuable they are for you to reach your fitness goals.
Sharp Focus on Your Goals: Every year, you hear how you need to set fitness goals. Most people say they want to “lose weight” or “build muscle.” These might sound like goals, but they are not specific enough to lead to success. Goals must be detailed and accompanied by an efficient and realistic plan of action. Setting a macro, meso, and micro timeline can feel overwhelming, but a personal trainer is able to take care of goal setting for you based on your idea of an ideal physique.
Instant Feedback: Learning the basics of fitness on your own can result in confusion, self-consciousness, and possible injury. Sometimes you are giving it your best shot and hoping that you are performing an exercise correctly. With a personal trainer, there is no guesswork. For every exercise that you are prescribed, a personal trainer will be there to teach you how to perform the movement and provide instant feedback when you make a mistake.
Lifelong Education: Although a personal trainer takes care of creating a complete workout program and dietary recommendations, the goal of every trainer is to instill knowledge that lasts a lifetime. What you’ll learn during your time with a personal trainer – from exercises to recovery techniques – is something you won’t lose. What’s more, you’ll be able to pass along this knowledge to family and friends, helping others to achieve their own fitness goals.
Better Results in Less Time: Having a structured workout program along with a professional who is pushing you to perform exercises correctly and with enough intensity is going to ensure better results in less time. Think about it: If you attempt to set goals, create a workout, and teach yourself every exercise through blogs or YouTube, it could take at least a year before you get close to your goal. With a trainer, this is all taken care of for you, leaving you to focus on what matters most: the hard work of exercise.
Significantly Reduced Risk of Injury: Arguably the most important reason to hire a trainer is to avoid a debilitating injury, one that keeps you out of the gym for months and delays your goals of a better and healthier physique. A certified personal trainer has a wealth of knowledge about injury prevention, which can be applied to modify exercises based on your personal needs. This can help to avoid injury especially if you’ve had surgeries or injuries in the past.
